max flux size with decent mpg
max flux size with decent mpg
I'm looking to upgrade my injectors, at the same time i will be upgrading turbo's as well, going to use my 62/14/65 over a s400.
i want to upgrade injectors to help the low end, and i would like to make some decent power, but i still like to turn everything down for highway trips, and get good fuel mileage. I'm thinking 1.6, 1.8's, but i'm wondering at what point does fuel milage start to suffer? i know small sticks actually help with mpg, but i don't know when the injectors start to drop fuel milage, with everything else being the same. any help or input would be appreciated. thanks.

so would it be safe to say that a flux one would be better mpg then stock, and a flux 1.8 would be about equivalent to stock mpg, but with more hp, and 1.6 may get a bit better then stock mpg, with just a bit less power then the 1.8's? i can only guess that in the 1.6 - 1.8 range the difference, mpg or hp would be very slight?

I put in Flux 1s (40HP) injectors and got around 1 mpg better empty and 2 mpg better towing plus lowered egt. They sure woke up the bottom end on my truck. I have TST but only run it on 2 power and 2 torque but the fuel duration does not kick in untill 12 pounds of boost whereas the injector upgrade is there from the start.
I have 1.8's and they seem to be that balance your looking for between power and mpg. I can't say for sure if they helped mpg, as I also installed a cam, springs, studs, and intake horn at the same time. I do think injectors are well worth it, and will make a pretty noticeable difference. As Farmer Jim stated, he only saw about a 1mpg increase with the 1's...so if thats the case I'd definately go with something bigger if power is your overall goal.
LOL, i'll keep that in mind, but i was thinking of something a little more reasonable.
i guess it's good to know that it's possible to maintain decent mpg with serious hp!
