max boost
max boost
towed my camper this weekend with the quad race box on 60hp. setting and could only get 25lbs of boost no matter how hard I pushed it I tried the 100hp setting and same thing I checked for leaks at all my hose connections I have no leaks. I have no fuel press. guage yet but could I be running out of fuel or do I have another problem.
No quad box but the max boost for my 305/555 seems to be 25-26 psi and then the wastegate opens. The wastegate on the 305 are mechanical and the 325 are electronically controlled from what I,ve seen. I thought the quad did some boost fooling.
Since you have the old style waste gate I can't really be of much help, but stock I can get ~32psi max on my '05, but when I had my Eliminator installed with the boost controller it topped out at about 20psi, but there was definately something wrong with the box....
My quad race on my 05 will just kiss 40 at times. i thinkk it can do it in all settings but not as positive on the 60. stock was 30. on the 130 setting i can watch the boost, egt and rpm all rise at about the same rate. totally stock. (plastic intercooler as well )

Its supposed to boost fool thats why I thought I would see a little more press. than 25lbs.

As someone else commented, your engine uses a vacuum controlled wastegate (305/555). Unless you modify your wastegate to bleed off boost pressure at a higher setpoint, it will bleed boost off at that setpoint no matter what the box is doing. The 325/610 engines have an electronically controlled wastegate that could potentially be modified through the ECM.
Boost fooling is more used to get increased fuel than to get increased boost. You fool the ECM into thinking that the boost pressure is higher than it actually is, so the ECM responds by adding more fuel to "feed the boost".

After thinking about it today at work I came to my senses and realized that with the mechanical wastegate that it could not change the pressure.
