Map sensor mod

I have been playing with the MAP sensor, manipulating the signal such as we do with the Ford's. The fluctuations in boost pressure, just from a mild take off, made me start to play around with it. The peformance gains, SOP have been impressive to say the least. . It seems to have upped the mileage a bit as well, but it just flat out flies , even without the propane on.

Has anyone else played with this in the 05's?

Please elaborate on what exactly you are doing to the map signal...

Thanks!

I am in essence, "fooling" it into seeing only a certain boost pressure reading, so it continues to keep fueling.

Is this the '10k' mod on the Fords?

No, it's more like the "boost relief valve" or Map sensor mod or Zener diode mod that they talk about. It doesn't change what the engine sees, just what the sensor sees. On the Fords, the sensor starts to cut back fuel or "defuel" at a certain boost pressure (usually 21 or 22 and before the Check Engine Light comes into play)

if i could figure out how to do it, i would build a signal amp and then clip it at like 4.4v or so [what ever 24psi boost registers with my 04] set up the signal amp to be about 2:1 or 2.5:1... would fuel more down low [would fuel like there was a good amount of boost when there was very little]

5psi actual would be like 12.5psi that the ecm see's
10psi actual and the ecm would see just under 25psi so it would give you a good bit of fuel there...

and if i was real smart, put some adjustable dip switches there so you have the potential for like 5 or more setting for fine tuning [anywhere between 1:1 to like 3:1]

that would be one fancy boost fooler eh...

I am doing it mechanically with a pressure relief valve and this nifty little block I made to fit in at the MAP sensor, so it can be returned to stock. I will keep you posted as I test it more. I wondered if anyone else had tried anything like it before.
