Low boost with my mods??
Low boost with my mods??
Just installed some ddp 90 horse tips in the truck today. Truck runs great, smoke is not too bad and overall I am really happy with them. My question is, from a stop I can build up some boost powerbreaking the motor to about 10 psi, but once the truck gets going the truck only builds about 38lbs of boost and then once the converter locks up it goes up to about 40-42psi. If I am already driving and I roll into the throttle and then floor it, the truck will build boost up to 45 psi and hold it there.
Does that seem a little low for the mods I have? It seems like I should have more boost when I am powerbreaking the motor and flooring it from a stop.
I am here in Laramie, Wy at an elevation of 7200 feet and I know that plays a part in everything, but this still seems like the boost is lacking. Any suggestions guys?

That doesn't sound bad, sounds about right, but I'm no expert by any means... I was going to say adjust your waste gate, but never mind you have a 04.5 truck. Did you turn the waste gate setting off on your SMARTY?
Yeah it does not feel like the wastegate is kicking in. The previous owner of the turbo I had said he had no problem building more boost than what I am making. I am able to see 1600 on the egt gauge if I stay in it.
