Well, never got past 450miles per tank.... just got back from South Padre Island, and got 610miles out of a tank. Refueled with 36.5 gal. Best purchase under $50!!

the vent mod relocates the vent for the fuel tank to a higher location, so you can get more fuel into the tank during fill ups, instead of trickling it in drop by drop when it is full

hope this helps

I park on a hill and yet to have a problem from the fill kit in a year. I also fill up 2 miles from the house and then park it. It is also nice not to baby the pump for the last 6-8 gallons of fuel at the fill up. The wife bought it for me and considers it the best mod on the truck

Thumbs up

Yah, it's great. I drained out 5 gallons (about 20 litres) out of the tank which I poured back in when I was done the dodification, then I went to fuel up and put another 136 litres in for a total of 156. All this in a tank the manual says holds 136 litres!

Got about 600 km on it, the over head computer hootie says I can go another 500 km on the tank, that's cool.
Doesn't take 10 minutes to fill up now after the pump shuts off.

I'll only fill up before a drive, or park in my shop out of the sun so won't have to worry about expansion.

Where can I get my hands on one of these vent mods? Or is it a do-it-yourselfer?

YEP! All the way up there. A couple of more clicks and DING, your done. Sure helps when you driving long distance to get that extra 120 -140 miles. I've had mine on for 2 years and I live less than 2 miles from where I fill up. Not once was there an expansion issue. The best place to fill up is @ those stations that have the true high flow pumps. Talk about fast fillups and to the neck

Yep, all the way up the neck until I can see it.

On the highway unloaded running 70-ish...the most miles on a tank I've seen was 720...I could have gone further but I was already pushing it. I'm definitely getting in more fuel than my 35 gallon tank is supposed to hold.

I installed the vent mod 1 month ago....Best mod for the $$$, as others have said!

Tank is rated at 35gallons, from the factory. Last weekend, I ran it until computer dinged low fuel light and OH read 70 miles to empty. I refilled with 38 gallons.

When I installed the vent, I filled with 5 gallons of fuel from the can, then filled 35 gallons after that. My best guess is the tank will hold (with the vent mod) about 43 gallons, and have 38-40 gallons usable. At 16mpg, that equates to 608-656 mile range.

I'll agree x10! This is the greatest cheap mod you can ever do. Saves you ~10 minutes every time you fill up, which adds up A LOT over time. Mine has paid for itself over and over again. Only thing I regret is waiting for 6 months to install mine!
