Loud Exhaust Question!!!!

I have a 4" dual exhaust system on my 04 dodge that has a very loud, annoying drone to it while pulling a camper or tailer. The exhaust tips are 5". I am looking to quiet this system down since my truck is only driven now to pull my camper, etc. One exhaust guy said I could try baffled/resonating tips which are suppose to quiet the noise as it comes out of the tips.

ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!

I bought the dual 4" exhaust for 04 dodge H.O. from the following website:
http://www.dieselperformancesystem.com/. I have the muffler and all that came with it. I do not believe that it is anything fancy.

I agree... The resonator made a huge diff on my brother's 02 Dodge. Muffler shops sell 4" resonators, or you could try a "big truck" shop for 5".

DO you know the brand name of the resonator used on your brother's 02' dodge? I was thinking that a totally different muffler might work as well.

He put a Banks 4" exhaust on the truck. But the drone was way to loud. So he put the original factory (3") resonator back on. The truck was just as loud and there wasn't any noticable performance change or fuel mileage change.

I would call a few muffler shops and get prices. I now have his 4" Banks muffler on my truck and it drones badly. So I'm thinking of getting a resonator too or straight pipe.

My buddy has an `05 with a full banks set-up and I thought it was quiet, sounds like it pushes alot of air out though. I`m buyn the mbrp 5" cat back w/ cat & muffler delete pipes, I like the garbage truck sound .

What exactly is the "stock resonator". The only items on the exhaust are the kitty and the muffler.

Maybe your truck didn't come with one. Mine didn't.

But a 4" resonator from a diff year wil fit just fine.

I'm still curious. I personally removed the stock system off of both my 03 and my 06 for complete system replacements. No so called "resonator" on either. Is that the part the holds the muffler bearings????
