Lorenz Dual Purpose Leafs

I recently upgraded from mini-packs to the full Dual Purpose Leafs on my Lorenz 2.25 SAW kit and man-o-man....what a difference! The new leafs are a HUGE increase in ride quality over the minipacks. I wish I would have gone with the upgrade right off the bat. Good work Sean!

how much lift did you get? any more than the mini packs?
Would you recommend the full leafs for a daily commuter with lots of freeway expansion joints?

thanks

Do you tow at all?? Heavy? Like 20k or more?? I have a lift all that weighs 18k without a trailer... I talked to Don Thuren and he recommended them but he didn't know of anyone running them that towed excessively!!!

I second that question. also can you throw a camper on and not have any issues or do air bags become a must have?

I think Sean Lorenz has a slide in for his truck, might want to call him and ask about it.

I tow, but not really heavy (7-8K). If you are going to tow a lot, you will want air bags to keep the truck from squatting too much. The Carli air bags would be perfect. The dual purpose leafs provide about the same lift height as the mini pacs.

There are pics on Lorenz's site of the dual purpose leafs. Check out the Buildups page for pics of my truck and others.

I like um alot, I wish the front springs were as smooth as the Dual Purpose Leafs.
Just drive over a speed bump in a parking lot, you will see what I mean.
I dont tow so I dont even have the bump stops in.

I am running Lorenz's IR coils with me 2.25 SAW kit and they seem to act very similar to the dual purpose leafs. The first 3 inches of travel are nice and soft just like the leafs.

I like the DP springs as well. There are provisions for bumpstops for heavy hauling, but I would do airbags to if I had that issue. Heck they do it with stock springs as well.

As for the front, thinking the SAW shocks work better than the 5100s.

I've been looking into the DP rear springs as well for my Carli kit. Does it really improve the ride that much? I don't mean to get off topic here, but does going from a Bilstein 5100 series shock (which is what came with my Carli kit) to say a custom valved King or Sway-A-Way really improve the ride quality enough to justify the cost?

The DP leafs are a night and day difference in ride...period. Custom valved shocks are also a huge improvement. Talk to Sean or Don Thuren and they will point you in the right direction

The shocks are the key to it all.Call Sage and tell him what you are trying to get out of your truck.............he will steer you to the right combination

Jeff K, I saw your truck on Lorenz' website a couple of weeks ago and it is one of the nicest looking trucks I have seen. Sounds like it is practical too, good job.
