Looking to get a Quad..

Ok so here is the deal.. I looked up the thread on the smoke switch and i really wanna do this and from what ive read its easiest to do on the quad xillaraider. So heres my question.. How difficult is it to install and remove the standard module? I ask this because I only have 15K miles on my truck and i dont want my warranty voided due to a module. I only plan on running it on the 30 hp setting and i want to get a smarty for my truck as well.. will these work together well? Also I know the smarty is a programmer and says it doesnt leave footprints in the ecm.. is the dealer going to be able to tell i have had the quad on the truck if i bring it in for service?? Dont get me wrong.. im not trying to get over on the dealer or anything. Im gonna run a really conservative tune until my warranty expires but if my waterpump goes again or i have something that a 30 hp module and a smarty on #3 couldnt have done id like to avoid the hassle..

I just installed a Quad std box last week. To remove just the box is simple, unplug the box and plug in the by-pass plug. However to go to the dealer I would pull the entire harness for the box. That might take 5 min to do, so it is not too bad to make it dealer approved. I also run the conservative tune right now, I usually run the 30hp setting but if I feel to much like stomping on it I will turn the box off and play away. I only do this because my truck has 2,000mi on it and dont want to destroy my trans yet. A Smarty is on my radar but not too sure if i want the temptation.....

My truck is a 2007, but I have the 5.9l engine. The truck was manufactured in December of '06 but sold as a '07.

the hardest part of the quad install is deciding where to mount the switch. the rest takes 10 minutes.
smoke switch can be installed on the harness prior to putting it in the truck. adds maybe 5 minutes.

Remember the new modules do not have a real "switch" They use our Control Pod which looks identical to the Rail pressure and recon gauges.

Makes it a lot easier to mount it and it never really looks out of place.

That just has a stacking program on it. Usually it is used for stacking with an Edge or TST but, it also works great with the Smarty or Diablo or BDDL. Now the normal ones can stack with the downloaders depending on what files you install.

Hey Quad,
I just bought a X-Raider and it came with a little turn-style rocker switch. Does that mean that i got an "old" module? I dont use the switch cuz I got a Commander, but would be curious to see if I got and "Old" one...

I think that means you got an older one. The new ones have a really trick looking control pod with them.

Yeah it would have to be older. Not really old but, it has been a while since we used the mechanical switches.

It does not gain you anything especially when you have a Commander. It just looks nicer and cleaner than a switch.
