I would like to have a box that plugs into the OBD port and gives me engine and transmission information. Not interested in changing any of the settings, just want to be able to see how things are going. Does such a device exist?

 

Bullydog outlook or PMT are the only that plug into the OBDII and give you reading but they require a few a few things to be hooked up besides just to the OBDII like pyrometer for egts and trans. temp. Edge now has a stand alone device like the attitude available but it reads serial data pyrometer hookups, Quad Commander analog data to digital display (they are working on serial data for commander), Dashhawk serial data to digital few externals also. BD X monitor and X2 monitors analog to digital. Thats all that comes to the top of my head right now.

 

I use the Dashhawk, and as soon as they have the EGT probe, it will cover everything I am looking for.

It does tranny temp, boost, and a bunch of other stuff now.

I like the looks of this, and have asked the manufacturer for more information.

 

This might be the ultimate device, but I don't plan to carry my laptop in the truck all the time. Something smaller and unobtrusive that could be left connected all the time would be better.
