I wanted to hook up a lock up switch on my truck tonight and I read the thread and know how to do it but wanted to know if the resistor on the ground wire was necessary on the early '04's because Radio Shack is closed right now. If not I'll wait. Thanks

 

yes if not it will throw the truck into limp mode

 

Ya im running mine without a resistor right now and if you get like me and get to ancy to quick and flip it before the tranny shifts into 2nd gear or if you let off the gas before you unlock the switch it will throw it into limp mode and you have to clear the trouble codes etc its a real pain. But it does make a huge difference for sure.

 

Eric don't do the lock up switch. You don't have the self control not to use properly and you will destroy your tranny. I know the lock up switch definately didn't do mine any favors.

 

Eric I heard they are turning your old truck into a full blown sled pull truck congrats on coming over to the third gen. side. BigBlue i passed you in hville the other day and waved i guess you missed me plus you havent seen my new truck that may have been it too.

 

I remember somebody waving but who knows. I just zone out on my trip here. Doing a 100 mile round trip 5 days in a row for the last 6 months tends to get pretty old so I try not to think about to much.
