Lock Right in front????

I've been doing some research on the front traction aid options for the 3rd gens. The Dodge AAM 9.25 shares the same front carrier and spider gears with the GM AAM ifs 9.25 front and the GM AAM 9.5 rear. The ring gears for the 9.5 and the GM 9.25 both fit on the same carrier. I have verified this in my garage by installing a GM 9.25 ring gear on an E-locker designed for the 9.5 rear. There shouldn't be much difference between the GM and Dodge 9.25. This leads me to believe that some of the LSDs and lockers on the market for the 9.5 rear will work on the Dodge 9.25 front. I have sent emails to Detroit, Auburn Gear, and Powertrax to inquire about the interchangibility of their difs. I also discovered that Powertrax lists the same part number for the GM 9.5 rear and the front GM 9.25 ifs. Seems like the Lock Right would work in the Dodge 9.25??? I sent an email to one of their engineers about this but have not gotten a response yet. Traction devices available for the 9.5 rear include the Detroit True Trac, the Auburn lsd, the Detroit Locker, and the Eaton Gov-lock. Can you think of a reason for these to not work in the Dodge? Problems with rotational direction maybe? Maybe the companies will give me some answers. However, I am not optimistic about getting good responses from them. In the past I have contacted Eaton and Detroit with other questions and the answers I have received have not revealed the information I was seeking.

I don't think a Lock Right would hold up in our trucks... Even in jeeps, if you get tires with any size or bite and enough gearing a lockright will hate life.

I can't wait to see what you find out.

I would think that you would want a locker or LS that you can turn on or off.
Thinking a E locker for eaton or ARB.
I have a eaton ls in the k5 and it works real nice but on snow or rain or ice it locks and is hard to get the truck to turn just like a locker would. The jeeps that I have driven that had the lockers like Detroit and the lunch box lockers like lock rite and others will grab and let go off and on. For a trail rig ist fine and for something you don't drive as a DD would maybe ok but ask soome of the 4X4 people on some other sites they will tell you e lock or ARB for DD.
I know some of the guts are the same and what you say more then I had thought so soon we should have everything for them.
If I remember Eaton has or will have a e lock out and they are good from what people are saying. Its like the one Jeep is using.
Let us know what you find.
