Post some nice 18's to 20's CHROME RIMS!!
I figure whats the point of getting different wheels if I am still going to keep it a 17", might as well get something bigger. But a question with that tho, since BIGGER tires cause many things, MPG's go down, performance, handiling, trans, u-joint wear......etc. How would it be with bigger wheels? Another words, less tire and MORE rim v.s. more tire and less rim. Well on cars I know that bigger rims is usually better handiling and the trans and other stuff isnt affected but performance is just about the ONLY thing affected, is it the same way for the trucks? Obviously I dont do much or actually ANY off-roading. But I want best of both worlds, so maybe 20s would actually be too big then and sounds like 18s would just about be perfect, let me know.
Check out the picture in my Gallery and specs in my sig.
I lost around 1 mpg on the overhead with these wheels and tires. I had the odometer reprogramed for the increased height and I don't use any chips or downloaders. They are approx. 20 lbs more each than the stock steel wheels and michelins. The tires have enough of a bead protector on them, that I don't worry about off roading. They are very quiet, compared to other off road tires I've heard. They do much better in off road than the stock michelins, but they definitely aren't a mud terrain tire.
I love em.

On a truck, you can never go too big! As for the tire & wheel combo, it really depends on what tire you go with. For road handling, you will get a stiffer & better handling ride w/ a 20" wheel & a smaller side-wall tire. Staying w/ a 17 or 18" wheel & a bigger tire, you will get a smoother ride, but you won't have the maneuverability that you would have w/ the shorter side wall on the Dubs. Weight-wise, I have 20's on my other truck & the brakes seem to wear a little faster - not much though so the price is outweighed by the 'Bling' factor. If you are running a heavier tire on the smaller wheel, I would think the same would be true.
Here's an American Racing 6700 18" wheel with a toyo open country m/t 35-12.5 on it from my little bro's 01

Ya know , Thanks for bringing that up as if I don't get enough of it from my brother already. But honestly that picture of mine is from the day after I bought them and they're spotless but in the shade VS my little bro's in the sun. He has a bit af an advantage on me as far as time goes, He's single no kids and working at a bike shop to make a truck payment and weekend money. So his truck gets wash and shine atleast twice a week. Me on the other hand married, 2 kids, 5er, road bike oh and a house payment. No excuses here though because I wouldn't trade it for nothing.
