Lift it to the sky

I currently have a 6" lift and for some reason it seems small, I mean that I may barely be able to stuff 37s on my truck but it would probably rub. My friend has a powersmoke with an 8" lift and his truck towers over mine by about 4-6". What the heck is the deal with that. I was wondering if anybody has found an 8" lift for the Dodges yet or if anyone has devised a reliable method for accomplishing this. Right now my lift is spacers in the front and rear. I am debating on having springs and coils made with an 8" lift in them. I guess my question is how high can I go before I need to have drivelines made?

I've been wondering about these huge lifts. Is it just to fit big tires? Seems like it would make the truck unstable both on and off road...

its not about the height to me, more about performance. My for buddies are always amazed that I run a larger tire with less lift and real amazed how well it rides.

Kelderman is your answer for a large lift.

It seems odd how you can purchase a 6" lift for around $1400 but to add two more inches the price doubles. Is there anybody else besides Rock Krawler that offers an 8" lift?

if you have 6" you can fit 37's no problem unless you just buy the wrong wheel offset. I have never had my 37' rub the body of my truck one time. I had to trim a tad off the lower plastic trim of the front bumper. I think I could run 38's if I wanted to but i might barley rub.

but the reson you buddies truck is taller is is because it is. 8" is 2 inches more than 6". then you ad the bigger tire and you get more hieght. I mean a 8" lift with 39's is going to be at bare minum 3 inches taller even on 37's with you 35's he is just going to tower over you.

I have ridden in a truck up 10" on 40's. I mean it looked good but it was a tad bit high for much practical use. I mean 6" on 37's like I have right now seems small when I park next to my friends rigs on 40's or 49's but in reality I think it is a nice trade off.

I have not seen an economical 8" lift for a dodge yet. and buy economical I mean just rear blocks, normal control arms, and nessesary hardware. anything I have seen over 6" inches always seems to have more high dollar parts to it.

If you don't have driveline vibration now, consider yourself lucky. Some 3rd gens get it with as little as 4". Anything over 6" you'll need at least a front. You're really better off clocking the transfer case, even then you might need to do the front. Be prepared to go through U-joints frequently.....

Screw it.... you want it tall? Just do a 10" body lift. It'll work just fine

If all you care about is height, give my buddies at www.bncoffroad.com a call. Full coil over suspensions, if you can dream it they can build it. Also look at www.trucksgonewild.com for some good ideas to make those 49s look like stockers. Later

Just by looking in your gallery at your truck it sure looks like your 6" lift is larger than the one on my truck. Your 37's fit like my 35's. If my truck sat like yours it wouldn't be searching for a larger lift.

Wow, I was just over on that TrucksGoneWild website looking at some pictures. That crap is rediculous. A whole bunch of ghetto-built hillbilly rigs on monster truck tires.
