leveling kit install.....

Thanks to pquestad I have a new leveling kit and bilsteins shocks on my truck.

Here is the lowdown...
ok, i just got done putting on the 2" leveling kit and bilstein 5100 shocks, took 2 hours. you do need a spring compressor but it isnt a big deal, found a set of 2 at autozone for $40

- take off the upper shock tower bolts and the one lower shock bolt
- you will also need to undo the swaybar bolts........
- then put on the spring compressors, one on each side of the spring.......
- once you have the spring compressors on just turn them about twice.
- jack up the truck at the frame high enough to fit the spacers in there, make sure to be careful, if the springs let loose you could loose a hand or a head......
- lower the truck slowly back down onto the spacers and tighten everything up.

This took me about 2 hours total time.

If you don't want to spend $40 just unhook the track bar and you can push the rear down and slip the coils in. Then drop the shocks down from the top, if they are gas shocks leave the strap on until they are in, other wise they are hard to compress.

thats right, you dont need spring compressors to install the 2" leveling kit. its simple to remove one bolt from the track bar mounting location on the frame and you get plenty of extra clearence to install the kit.

the spring compressor was so much easier than taking it all apart. I thought about taking those bolts out and said F it, I used the compressor. Very easy.
