Question Leveling Kit Install Help???

Does anyone have any words of advice for installing the 2" leveling kit. I tore the front end down tonight and there is absolutely no way the springs are going back in with the 2" kit in there. The front axle cannot drop anymore as the link arms are bottomed out on the brackets. I even went so far as to disconnect the sway bar links and it only helped gain another 1/2". Spring compressor?

I know there is some trick to this as I have done my share of coil replacements on other vehicles, but they all just slid right in. I'll patiently await any ideas. Truck is OOS until I get this squared away.

Did you do the 2" spacer? Never heard this one before...usually you can pop them in with a pry bar.

Did you D/C the track bar? If that doesn't work, disconnect the upper CA at the axle end one side at a time (disconnect one side, put the spring in, jack up the axle and connect the upper CA, then do the other side.)

Sounds kinda strange, I put 6" springs in without a spring compressor by disconnecting everything except the CA's. Had short arms too.

Good luck with it....

When I put my D25's in I used a bottle jack between the axle and the bump stop. They went right in.

That's exactly what I did also. Just go rent a spring compressor, it'll be easier.

The way I've always done them is you just have to man handle them in. Have someone push down on the side of the axle your working on and push up on the other side while you push the spring in.

I suppose it would give you the 2 inches back that you lose with having the plow on.
