so that when you load the backend down hauling cargo or towing a trailer, the truck sits level instead of nose-high (being nose-high is going to affect your handling).

Yes, you are correct concerning just using spacers on the front coils but if you add a rear leaf pack with it this is NOT the case. Also, it depends on the the weight of the the trailer that is being pulled and having your hitch height at the correct height. I would think 3500 lbs or less should make little to no difference at all. I have the Kore Chase system installed on mine and have towed over 8.500 lbs but I have the rear leaf pack installed.

The reason they are raked is for fuel mileage reasons, (aerodynamics) other than that there is no problem with the leveling kit,, the main reason for the death wobble (which I had before and after I installed the leveling kit) is actually castor,,, too much positive castor,, the tires try to climb over themselves, no fun though,,

Caster can certainly play a role in death wobble, and sometimes cause it by itself, however, with the inverted-Y steering linkage on these trucks, if/when you install a lift it causes the steering to be toe-in, which will cause DW, regardless of the caster.

Viking, it is barely noticeable, but it's still noticeable. We're talking 1.75" of lift on one end of a 160" wheelbase truck, so it's not going to be a huge visual difference, but the truck sits level now and it's got the look we wanted so we've very happy with it. Heck, even just getting into the truck you can tell the front end is higher.

We didn't go with a full lift kit (ie: 4") because we use the truck to tow our Jeeps to events and didn't want to hurt the towing or fuel economy too much, plus we really didn't want to go over 35" tires, and even with just the leveing kit the truck still dwarfs the 35's. I didn't really want the "lifted truck" look anyway, that's what our Jeeps are for, we just wanted something beefier than stock, more the way you'd expect a big 1-ton diesel truck should look.

haven't had the kit on long enough to tell, but I doubt it'll make a noticeable difference. mileage on the highway with the new tires may actually be up a bit though, but it's probably hurt it some around town.

I put the front end leveling kit on my 04.5. Never again will I put one on my trucks. I think that when you change the suspension around, it changes the way the weight is diss. around the frame. I think that is a big reason for my truck getting the death wobble thing ( allthough trucks get death wobble without a leveling kit) I left my 06 stock and added 18" tires and never have had a hint of death wobble so far.(nock on wood) Keep it stock. You will be much happier in the end. Just my 2 cents.

I'm assuming you had an alignment done on the truck after doing the leveling kit?

I put a 2" lift on my 2005, 2500 4X4, about 6 months ago. I personally like the look. I run close to 500 miles a week up in nothern Nevada. Some of it at 70 mph on pavement and the rest over some rough country. Sometimes loaded... other times not... Noticed no difference in milage (except when I put my "foot in it"), no wobble and I havn't noticed any "nose-high" with a load; that others have experienced.
I had an alignment done after installing the lift, but the one thing that I overlooked ( and I think may be common) was that I forgot to have the headlight beam lowered. I was reminded a few times after the first night commute . The 2" lift has my vote...
