leaky isolator

The isolator on my fuel pressure gauge is leaking...
Last time I pulled it apart it was the bleeder that was loose - I'm pretty sure it's snug now. Has anyone ever disassembled an isolator and run some RTV or Permatex around it and tightened it up again?

ok... let me rephrase
I think I will try to fix my leaky isolator the following way - what do you think?

1. Unmount and check for leaks in my connections to it.
2. Check assembly - 1 bleeder and 4 screws holding clamshell together.
3. If all tight, disassemble clamshell and coat both sides of diaphram with permatex, re-assemble and hope.

I know there are other posts saying I should throw the dang thing away and just run a fuel line into my cab... but with my luck with leaks that seems like a BAAAD idea.

I doubt those sealers will work. It probably wouldn't hurt to try it but don't expect the repair to last long.

An isolator is very important on a gasoline powered vehicle. Too much fire danger if there is a leak in the cab. I would think the dangers are much less with diesel fuel. Although I don't think I would want diesel fuel spraying around in the cab neither.

Thats why I wish Issopro made an electric FP gauge for the Optix line. I would be on that in a second. But if they don't really soon I guess I'm going to order some Autometers.
