L shape in bed Tank

Ok I know about Transfer flow tanks, but that is not what I want to pricey. I can get a 70 gal. tank L shape tank installed for about $500 and some change. The pump is on the passenger side. I was wondering who else sells these tanks I can't seem to find what I want. I want the fill neck on the drivers side and the pump motor on the drivers side. Seems like I see more of the pump motor on the passenger side. Anybody have any info. or web sites to order one like what I described?

Thanks Sittenbull

Are you looking for an aux tank (hooks into the OEM fuel system)or a transfer tank (seperate pump and hose)?

I haven't seen an L-shaped aux tank. Most of the L-shaped tanks I've seen are transfer (refueling) tanks.

You should be able to find a transfer tank at most farm supply places.

You can also try RDS , they have an L-shaped transfer tank (page 18 of their catalog). There is another manufacturer but I can't remember the name (I have it at the house).

Try Northerntool.com they have a few in steel and aluminum diamond plate. I think that you can swap the fill/vent with the pump. I believe the two holes are the same size. Not 100% positive though.

Thumbs up L shaped tanks

The l shaped tanks and all transfer tnks I'm aware of all have a 2in threaded flange on the drivers side and passenger side. The reason for this is that the pump threads into one flange and the fill cap threads into the other. The reason you see most pumps on the passenger side is because most people fill from the driver side. Some pumps don't fit as well on the driver side because of nozzle mounting and hose hanging, especially if you put a cross-the-bed tool box behind the L tank. I have a 50 gal. L shaped Transfer tank/tool box combo. The manufacturer weleded a chest type box in the open area of the L tank. I'm very pleased with it. I can get to South Texas from Virginia with a full truck tank and my transfer. Plus it's great for filling my tractor. I stop at rest areas to fill while I'm stretching the legs and checking my rig. Plus I can buy more fuel when I find it cheap.

If you are going to mount a aux tank in the bed why not just put a ball valve and hose going down into the fill neck of the OEM tank. I was thinking that you can't overfill them. Even if you can't at least with the ball valve when you get low you and just open it up (like a 1/2" ball valve) drive some more until your gauge reads full then close it. Thats how we did it on Dads old ford anyway.
