I currently am running a 6inch tuff country lift w/ superlift springs. In the rear i have 4 inch blocks. Initial i thought wheel hop/ axle rap would be minimal. Well, it was until the power adders came along. so now i am looking for a fix. I am looking at their (kore) rear leaf spring mini packs. What will this do to ride height, will i be able to do away with the 4 inch block and add the mini packs and maintain my current height. If not how much height will i be gaining with the mini packs? i will just cut down the block for the difference.

I know i could go with a set of ladder bars, but i dont want to spend 700+ and dont have the time to make a set.

Unrelated:
Got my fender flares today.

The KORE mini-paks will only give you 3/4-1" additional height over stock. I would tell you that if you're looking for height, KORE would not be your best bet. If I were you, I would do some research to see if there are any companies out there that can or do build a type of add-a-leaf package that will give you the height you're looking for while allowing you to get rid of the blocks. HTH.

there's a company called alcan that i'm gonna order my springs from. they're pricey, but custom built per your specifications. 888-321-0870. i've done A LOT of research on leafs, so if you have any other questions about the different companies, let me know.

You could buy a mini pack and keep the block that would make your truck 3/4" taller than it is now............. Not that big of a difference ............ On my truck I removed the overload and added the mini pack on my brothers we kept the overload and added the mini pack......... Do you still have the overload??????? If you do you could swap it for the pack that would solve your problem and keep the same height..............

If you want traction bars, talk to Jesse at http://www.farmboyfabrications.com/main. I know he has mostly built them for Fords but JoeE on dodgetruckworld just got a set for his 06 2500 from him and loves them. Ill be getting a set in the future. They are much less than $700.

I used Alcan on my 56 ****** wagon. Had to send them back twice, and they still weren't right. Finally gave up and had a local shop fix them.

I have ordered/used springs from Dever, Alcan and National and they are all about the same, choose your length, arch, center pin, spring rate....usually takes along time (months), costs alot ($500 to $700) and it's pretty much on you if you get the measurements or spring rate wrong.

These custom springs seem to come out pretty soft (even though they have alot of leaves) and my experience with soft spring is that they will wrap and distort easily if no traction bars are used.

If I where you I would either get the ladder bars or look for pre-made/engineered leaf spring sets from the major manufacterers like Superlift ( I think they offer 4 or 6in springs for 3rd gens)....but even then you may have axle wrap probs....hope this helps!!!!

Sounds like there are alot of options out there. I am looking to keep my ride height +4 in the rear, but remove the block. A little softer ride might not hurt. Anybody had any experiance with the skyjacker add a leafs on these trucks? Also sounds like traction bars are the best choice to prevent my wheel hop. I spend lots of time up in the snow and these things as heavy as they are, like to hop.
I like the idea of swaping out the overload for the kore pack, but the problem is, that 4 inch block is killing me.

Did i mention i got my fender flares?
cant wait for weather to permit me to install them.

I don't think a spring pack will cure your problem unless you go to something really stiff. If you're happy with the current ride (other than the axle wrap) I think you'd be happiest with a set of ladder bars. I don't think swapping to Carli or KORE hybrid packs will stop it.

Well in that case, Who makes a decent set of ladder bars? I have looked a GDP and they are a bit pricey.
I have been looking at making a set for myself. Has anybody made a set themselves? What size tube, DOM, Chromoly, how big of hiem joints. that sort of information would be great.

hey pooper, I have been looking at whats avaliable also and was not sure as to the quality of some of these ladder bars that are being sold. I mean the welds on the few I have seen werent what I call quality. I havnt seen any of them break but I know I am personally capable of better. I keep seeing trucks in the other forums that have them installed, im curious if one of those kind people would help out with some of that information so I can build a set for myself. I am also wondering if this would hinder four wheeling aside from the obvious problems with clearance.
