Sean, your math isn't panning out. Even at 2200# sprung weight, a 580# coil will only compress about 3.8". If your travel numbers are correct, the coil will still fall out of the bucket. Everyone else I've talked to puts the sprung weight of a 3rd gen at 1800-1900#, 2100-2200 is closer to the total scale weight per corner.
I am running a softer spring rate than the "Race quality" systems out there, but not by much...we're talking a difference of 20-30#/inch. With the flutter stacks the front end doesn't feel light and with the lighter spring rate I can run less rebound valving.

I stand corrected on the weights. 2100 is the scale weight not the sprung weight. The coils still do not come out of the buckets though.
We'll have to take a ride in each others trucks', and compare notes. Maybe another Glamis trip? I'm sure we could squeeze one in before the end of the season...?

Matt...
Just so I understand what you're saying, you're seeing 3.75" difference between free height and loaded (ride) height on those springs, and 6.25" of compression left in the shock?
Based on the sprung weight you gave me, the math works out exactly, but thats about 300-400# more than what I've seen/heard for 3rd gen sprung weights. Like Sean said, that weight is alot closer to the scale weight per corner.
I know which shocks you're running, who's towers?

I am running Sean’s towers. My mockup is still not complete, I am hoping to have it done this week & I can give you some more accurate numbers then. I was basing my original numbers off of Sean’s standard setup. If you look at the some on the pictures if SAW shock you will see it has about 1” inch of travel left. My specific setup is kind of a kludge of different parts to get what I want, that is one of the nice things about Lorenz Ind. is you can purchase what ever parts you want and not have to purchase a whole kit.
Well guys, It looks like good information will be very hard to come buy over here. The hour or so + I've taken of my own time to spell out what Race quality suspension is all about just got erased.
Good luck getting usefull information from any vendors who don't pay for advertising on DTR. I've seen Magazines accused of this, but a public forum?
I'm a little miffed to say the least.
Please talk to your moderator Lary about this if you don't like what has been done.

If you want to advertise here, you can do it just like everyone else and PAY for it.

I can not in good faith allow him to advertise his products for free, when straight dealing vendors PAY for the right to do so. That is not fair to the fine people who actually pay to help keep this site free for your use.
He sells suspension products, I sell ad space. I do not go into his shop and steal his products and I expect him to give me the same minimal respect.
"DTR reserves the right to advertise in it's forums and memeber signatures for PAID vendors only."

95% of what I wrote out, was a direct responce to what one of your members had asked. If you recall, I sat on the side lines for a couple of days waiting for the Questions to work themselves out before I chimed in.
So, your going to replace what was deleted?

If you make a post and want it to remain, just do it within the guidleines like every one else.
