REALLY!!!?????
I will be kinda bummed if I got a old style harness:( witch I must have......I want the harness you got...I think I will call and see what going on..thanks for the heads up:cool: can you take a pic of the said plug???? please[coffee] I have been wondering if I got the wrong harness after reading some different threads and it seemed like my harness was different. I'm working on the install today, trying to do something a lil' funky with the liberty canister. Hope it works out! Oh and I got the light kit with mine, but I was thinkin' about not using it......hmmm one more hole in the dash, why not? [duhhh] |
cool thanks for the pic:cool: my harness is not the same as what you guys have...I need to make sure that harness will even work for me???
can you snap a pic of the plug on/by the ECM that these others are plugging into??? Thanks |
I haven't quite got that far yet just doing lunch right now. And if you look at those two plugs they are ran in that same sheath and then split near the end to 2 of those corrugated tubes so that is leading me to believe I am supposed to be able to plug that thing in near my airdog. We'll see.

The second plug on the wiring harness end that goes to the AirDog pump motor is for the indicator light pressure switch.
We are taking a second look at the Dodge stock fuel pump lead. Chrysler may have just added an 'extension' lead from the original Deutsch ECM pump lead connector to the pump in the tank. If this is the case, we will change the wiring harness for those year trucks. It sure would make it nice. We will also exchange the wiring harness for this change, if this is the case, for any one who has not as yet installed their AirDog. It all comes out in the wash! Charlie |

I have the 04.5. I used the 05 and up harness. The only connections I made was BATT+, BATT-, Airdog pump connection, and plugged into factory fuel pump connection at fuel pump/filter housing. I am not sure why you guys are running a trigger wire. Only the 03-04 harness uses a trigger wire and you can use the 05+ harness instead.

You should have a plug at the ecm on the engine, should be a grey two wire. You just unplug the factory pump plug and plugin the airdog harness right at the ecm.

Charlie is this a 05+ harness or a 03-04.5???????

And do I plug the green one in here at the filter housing?

Do I need to strip the green one out of the corrugated tube and connect it at the filter housing. Then find the trigger pump wire and tie the red one to it?
|
The Airdog instructions say "Disconnect the OE fuel pump lead from the ECM connection (Deutsch, two pin connector). Connect the AirDog relay activation lead to the OE fuel pump ECM connection."
Toby at airdog said to trace the wires, he said they should be by the ecm. I think you might have found them on the frame. I happened to find that plug on my 04.5 where the dealer added a relay when the in-tank pump was installed. I had Toby send both harnesses because he was not sure what was used on the 04.5. I used the deutsch plug so if for some chance the airdog failed i could just plug the stock pump back in. Lifting the bed is not bad at all is it. I like what you did for the return. I had to use a couple different reducers. |
Ok I think you may have it back wards???? not bashing just trying to get this straight....03-04.5 trucks ALL have the plug you are talking about cause they had filter mounted lift pumps...so you must have got a 03-04.5 harness not a 05+....the 05+ trucks dont have the 2 pin plug...I searched and did not see it..I followed the orange with red stripe wire all the way to the front and I cant see the plug you are talking about...I even scoped GDP install for the 05+ trucks and they have you cutting and splicing wires and connectors too.....thoughts??????
I am just going by what Toby said. He sent the 05 harness to see if would work. You may be right thought. Toby told me on the early ones you need to find a keyed on hot lead. So I assumed that the 05+ did not have the trigger wire. I emailed Toby everything that I found different with the 04.5 since he was not sure on that year. I never did hear back. I called him while I was doing the install and he had me looking at the ECM for the two pin. |
Sorry. the first part of the above post is a quote from 53willys

It also seems as if I need to split the harness loom. The airdog connection and the filter housing connection only go about 1 foot from each other. I need more than that so that both of the connections will reach. Has anyone else had to split the loom?
I'm just guessing what to do with these wires and plugs because the directions aren't exact. I was gonna call pureflow today to figure this out. But, came up with my own idea instead. Not sure if it's working? Codes came up on the test drive. P0628, P0237, P0069 |
