Just got a new truck .. whats working best now
I would vote Smarty, but I dont like it on an auto. I think a Smarty works best on the lower rpm band, auto keeps the revs higher the whole time. It is supposed to have a new SW that has a better top end... maybe that will fix it. So I have to say a TST if you want big power...... I have seen a nasty flexplate from a TST.... isnt that right 97.

Oh yeah, all the cool looking PDA's and flashy ads about how good Banks is, are witchcraft sent by Osama Binladen to build his empire...... and they dont ad %#@ to your truck but disapointment.
If you are just looking for all in one. The new TST is hard to beat. 0-250 hp with built in gauges (boost, exhaust, and rail pressure) and a shut of timer.
Adjustible timing (0,3,6,9,12,15,18 degrees is auto or constant)
Levels 0-9 in both low and high rpm fueling
Levels 0-9 in rail pressure increase
4 different softwares
It is really hard to beat for $900 by itself.
Mild to wild...

I'm doing lots of reading and a lot of people are going with TST/Smarty Stack. Couple questions:
1. What kind of power does this have the potential to put out?
2. Which should be gotten first?
3. What supporting mods will it require?
I'm already planning on tranny upgrades, just not certain what I need to go with for this combo.

The Commander is not steep in price at all. It is very close to a set of mechanical gauges and cheaper than a bunch of them.
Also if you need an economy gauge that works flawlessly look at this:

Had that been available then, I would have thought hard about it.
I just got my build sheet from Dodge and I've got the 48RE which is what I want from everything I've read so that made me happy ..
DG8 - 4-Spd. Automatic 48RE Transmission
Anything else I should be looking for on the build sheet?
