It's official - clutch needed sooner...

I just had my **** handed to me by a Duramax. Just having a little fun over lunch...

It was actually fairly close, but my clutch is slipping a LOT more than I thought it was, the truck felt slightly sluggish this go-around. I bet if I had the clutch in there I'd have been much closer. Add the fuel system and I would be closer to play-time!

He had stickers plastered for www.superdieselperformance.com on his truck, 5" or 6" exhaust (dayum big looking at it from the rear). No clue what's underneath it all though.

I hate getting beat, but I had fun playing around with another modded diesel finally. You gotta love any truck this size and weight that can move like that!

I wonder what the black market price of a kidney is going for these days - that should cover the cost of my wish list, right?

Yep, a new Monte SS was behind me in the slow zone and then it went from 55 to 70. He thought he may pass me but I had other plans. This guy has been aching for a while for this. So level 5 hammer down and 2500-2800 slipped like crazy. Still beat him but it's not saying much. I think they still have the V-6 in them. Since I put the FASS on my truck is a lot snappier and runs out good but now the clutch needs replaced. I'm setup for the first week in September for a ConFE. Then a turbo and I'm done.

You're right, these trucks move for their weight. Lots-o-fun.

Off the line the 6-speed is hurting you a lot too, even if you had a good clutch. You probably lose a good second in the 1/4 just from the tranny. But once you get up in the gears, WATCH OUT

A guy I know did a 6-speed to auto swap.

Two second drop in ET's with no other mods.

Yup, these heavy duty truck tranmissions were not designed for fast shifting. They were designed to stand up to a heavy load with lots of torque behind them, which they do oh so well

Seriously. I want to start saving my money for a new 6.7. The wife will get this truck and I don't want her walking all over me.

I never drag race my truck....much. I usually try to get in the higher gears before I get lippy. The next one will be an auto if they release the consumer version with the Aisin in it. Might be expensive to mod though. I sure do love the 6 speed for pulling in the mountains.
