Isspro gauges - strange noises???

I will do my best to describe the issue. Specs:

04.5 600
AFE cold air
MBRP 4 inch
Quadzilla XZT

I installed my Isspro gauges today. Gauges consist of pyro, Fuel pressure, turbo boost. The truck is a manual, hence no trans gauge. The install went very well - no issues. I took the truck for a test drive to make sure everything was working correctly. Gauges are reading in spec. Everything seems to be working perfectly.

Here's my issue. I am getting an interior noise - almost like a gurgling. I figured maybe it was the antifreeze from the isolator moving around. However the noise flucuates quite a bit - almost in sync with the boost gauge. I took the boost lines to the boost gauge apart to see if there were any leaks. I found none. I covered the fittings of both the boost and fuel pressure gauge with soapy water to se if i could detect a leak. I got nothing. Everything seems to be working perfectly. So are these guages just noisy? It's not load by any means. But it is noticable enough that my wife made a comment about it. She felt it sounded like static from a radio turned down very low. At idle there is no noise. Under accelaration - very little noise. When you decelerate is when it seems most pronouced. The noise isn't obtrusive - just annoying.

Any thoughts on this. I did a search and could not find a similar experience. What should i look at next? Any thoughts would be greatly apreciated.

Wish I could help you. Mine work fine with no noise. More pronounced under deceleration? Did you use teflon tape on the treaded connections in the guages? I seem to remember going back and doing that. Couldn't hurt.

I used pipe dope on all the threads. I suppose I could go back and redo with tape and see what happens. The wierd thing is that everything is working perfectly. Thanks for the reply. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

My boost gauge is noisy as well...only at higher boost levels. I've just learned to live with as many have complained about it.

i have an autometer boost gauge and it makes a noise that sounds almost like a ticking valvetrain noise. i think the sound is just traveling from the engine, through the tubing, into the truck. i removed the gauge and the noise went away. then re-installed it and the noise came right back.

yeah i have hte isspro gauges, and mine are junk! my boost gauge makes the noise where it is annoying as the boost gets higher, and then my pyro gauge went out and i sent it off. they charged me $25 and sent it back said there would be no problems. it worked for ten minutes and messed up again. I just ordered a set of autometer phantoms, and im going to get rid of these isspros

that's interesting. That sound like the most logical cause. I drove the truck today and it seems to have mellowed a bit. go figure. I guess I'll just turn the radio up..........

Thanks for the replies every one.

I put my ISSPROs' in a couple months after I got my truck. I never had any issues with them. I have them mounted in the cubby hole - could it be anything to do with the mounting (loose bracket, line resting on something) ?

I wonder if them being in the cubby muffles the sound. I had the pod off several times. I have everything secured very well. I even use some cellulose foam to insulate some areas. I think I covered all the areas where there could be a rattle. I just don't know at this point. The noise certainly isn't loud. It's the sort of frequency that you can just hear. With the radio on even at a low level, you can't even hear it - almost like the radio cancels it out. Maybe i am just too picky with my rig..................

Yep mine too. Well they did until I put the different muffler on. I haven't noticed them since.

My boost gauge tubing will rattle around a bit when my boost rises really quick. However if I can maintain high boost and not run out of road it quitens down. For me its only when the rate of change in boost is high. I kinda liken it to water hammer in pipes. I don't know if I can solve it by securing the boost tubing better or putting a loop in it to help take up the pulsations. I really can't do anything about it right now anyway.

Maybe this is something you all are seeing.

I've got the same setup as you and had the same issue from the boost gauge. After taking everything apart (to get rid of the fuel pressure isolator problem, what a nightmare, still have antifreeze smell in the cab), I put everything back and zip tied EVERYTHING. Have not had any sort of noise issue since.

Isspro fuel gauge

My gauge sucks!! It has never worked right and they wouldn't do squat. I have to settle with bouncing it against a real gauge and see the difference and that way tell what the heck pressure I have. Junk,.. Junk,... Junk. Don't buy Isspro. IMO

I've got the 60 lb gauge. What gauges are you guys getting buzzing from? I'm thinking about gettting a 40lb from Diesel Manor and trying that, with their upgraded line kit.
