Looking really good, so you are keeping busy in retirement it looks like and that's a good thing. How is the wife handling you being around all the time

Man, I'm so busy... full time school, volunteering, remodeling the house, trying to get the truck worked on... It's better than working full time, but my plate is full! I think she's fine, we're both so busy we don't get in each other's way. We try to do stuff together deliberately to make time for each other. We sure aren't staring at each other from across the room all day hopelessly board, that's for sure!

Took the truck to the next town over (Bristol) to get the Rhino Lining re-done, they covered it under warranty. Nice, fresh, and new!

The toolbox on the left is 20 years old, and one of my Marine buddies in the metal shop made me the custom base for it... old boy did a great job! I decided to polish it up so it matched the new one I put on the other side recently. Not a terrible job.

Pulled the rear seats and storage floor carpet, laid down the rest of the sound deadening mat. I can really tell a difference, and I think it was worth it. I probably have 3 solid days in laying the mat.

My rear window quit rolling down, common issue for these trucks as the wires get pinched and break in the door jamb. 26 year old me fixed them once (when I didn't own a soldering iron lol), and I fixed them again recently. It worked for about a day, then stopped... I found a new wiring harness on ebay for 20 bucks, so I'm gonna throw in the towel on this one!

100 years ago (maybe 2006), I got gauges, and a retired navy guy on this site helped me do them. He did a good job, but there were a ton of wires shoved under the dash, I've been shoving them back up there a couple times a year. I had some shorts and some gauges not working, so I finally tackled that. I got everything thing tied up really nice, but still have two gauges playing dead... Oh, and I realized you could take the bar holding the hood release off, that made things a lot easier.

I figured out the cab leak, it was the windshield, not the cab lights. I guess when I had it replaced a while back, they didn't seal the top very well... I had the headliner down and spent about two hours pouring water from a cup over each cab light... nothing. Poured it down the windshield and saw it disappearing into a big gap between the glass and the frame. It rained pretty hard last night and no water on the floormat this morning, so it looks like I got her whipped! I also put in some LED bulbs in the dome lights, I like them, much better. Ordered some new LED bulbs for the isspro gauges too.

You are doing a great job on your truck. I'm sure it makes it far more enjoyably to drive. have you notice if the sound proofing helps the a/c work better?

It's a labor of love for sure, I wouldn't offer to do that sound mat on anyone else's truck!

I have not noticed, but it's been pretty mild here still. I did put a set of gauges on my AC the other day, everything within spec, and my output is below 35 degrees most of the time. I need to clean the condenser out just for routine maintenance. It does make my doors harder to shut, just a tiny bit, nothing major. I want to say it feels like the air isn't escaping like it was before, that's what is making it hard to shut, but the vents on the rear of the cab are still open, so I'm not sure why it would be that. Might just be the door trim fitting a little tighter.

Nice work.. Under a long lost username I was on DTR and Cummins forum a lot myself 17-20 years ago back when I bought a new 2500 in the fall of 2006. Man you ain't kidding the world has moved on for sure. This forum was waaay busier back then. I still have my same truck it's only got 105,000 on it. It's largely stock/unmolested but I've used it for a truck and been looking to freshen it back up. Just the type of threads I'm looking for thanks for taking the time to post
