It must be the fault of a previous downloader.... That is what the problems are usually blamed on...

Has the truck had a downloader on it previous to the Smarty?

I have no idea if you are asking me or not but if you are, yes I had my triple dog on the truck before and yes it threw that code as well. My truck had a reflash at the dealer before I loaded smarty and smarty has thrown the code once since.

I am confused a tad bit. Does this mean that everytime the smarty software is updated that we should return our trucks to stock and then to the power level we need?

How does the smarty write to the ECM? Does it just simply overwriite the exisiting file or does it clear the ECM AND Reload the new program.

No you don't need to return the truck to stock to update your smarty. I don't know if it erases it first or simply writes over it.

With the Smarty and TST I throw a combination of P0602 and P0336 about once a month now. The P0336 I generally attribute to the TST since it is a known TST code and have had it long before the Smarty. The P0602 is only since the Smarty and when the Smarty is loaded. It is interesting that now I always have both codes together. They seem to clear ok with the Smarty.

I don't worry about the dealer or Star finding out about my mods anymore, too many mods to expect any warranty on engine or drive train. But would certainly like to see less codes or a real reason for them.

Well...it (P0602) comes back all the time on my truck. I just cleared it twice and it came back both times after short drives.

I'm curious about this freeze frame thing. Does the ECM store this indefinitely or does new data overwrite old data as you run the engine? I guess what I'm asking is does freeze frame stuff disappear over time?

this is interesting... im scared to pitch into a smarty now. the last thing i need is warranty being voided because the dealer viewed this code being thrown.

Anybody know how to clear the FF data?

Still wondering if anybody knows how to clear the freeze-frame data?

I don't want to disconnect my batteries to try and clear it.

Perhaps someone using Auto Enginuity might chime in? It says it will clear freeze frame data including DTC freeze frame. www.autoenginuity.com

My friends 03 just had P0602/P2121 come up COMPLETELY STOCK. Went away on its own, and hasn't come back yet. (1 month) He was driving and lost total power for a few secs. We figure it was just a "computer glitch"
