Intake and Exhaust Combo!
Intake and Exhaust Combo!
First off please forgive me if this a repeat post (I’m brand new to the site) but I just figure I'll try out the site. I just got my first Diesel truck yesterday-2006 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 2500-4x4 Automatic. I have not even taken delivery on the truck yet and I’ve already ordered the first round of upgrades (haha oops) Anyways, I really want to keep the truck mostly stock and don’t want to void any significant warranties, but with that being said I REALLY want to A) Get good turbo diesel sound out of the truck B) Remove the restrictive exhaust and lower EGT
So I ordered the AFE Stage 2 intake package as well as the Magnaflow 5" turbo back exhaust system (17989 part #). My question is: Will these two upgrade greatly increase the trucks turbo wine and the exhaust noise. I really want a good sounding deep exhaust with lots of turbo sound with out sacrificing any performance. I also looked at the MBRP Exhaust and the Volant intake...did I make the right choice, BC I can still return it if I didn’t.
Thanks

Congrats on the new truck, you'll love it.
What's wrong with the factory pips? I myself wouldn't be so quick to ditch a brand new factory 4" stainless exhaust, but that's mostly just cuz I'm not an overly rich guy!
I'd just change the muffler, I put in a 40" Nelson which is in my gallery.
As for intakes, everyone here says AFE's are the best, but overpriced in my opinion. I'm getting a S&B for mine...

When you change the intake on the truck make sure you take out the silencer ring in the turbo. By taking this out you will make the turbo sing like the big rigs. By doing a search on this website you will find more info and pics if you are not sure what I am talking about.
