i am looking into buying the afe stg2 or the s&b and i poped my hood and there are a few things that came to my attention, do these aftermarket intake have places for the sensors/ the greend and yellow thing whatever the hell it is? and if they dont will i get a code/ check engine light? thanks for the help

 

I know my AFE stg2 has a place for the sensor.

 

I've got the S&B and it has the place to install the Intake Air Temp Sensor, the other is a filter minder and you don't need it with the S&B cause you can see the filter through the clear top on the box. Very good intake especially for the $$$.
Remove the silencer ring going into the turbo while your at it and get more whistle from the turbo.

 

All of the aftermarket intakes have a place for the restriction-o-meter and the AI sensor. If the AI sensor isn't hooked up your CEL will come on.

 

Whatever intake you go with you will need to use the sensor and the filter minder, you can't tell by looking at the filter how much retsriction is there, no matter how dirty or clean the filter looks.

 

so then i do need to hook up the filter minder which is the green and yellow jar the s&b does not have that and the afe does?

 

Where did you put in your restriction meter? I have the afe, and i didnt see anyplace to put in the restriction thing.
