Installing MANNWELDER's STAXX clamp

First I want to say thank you to MANNWELDER (on this forum) for the best pickup "smoke stack" mount on the market!!! Awesome customer service and shipping from CA to MN in 2 days!!!

After reading 53WILLYS DIY 5" Turbo Back write-up I decided to go for it also. Thanks to 53 for the excellent detailed write-up!!!!!

Tools you will need to install the STAXX clamp

This is a HEAVY DUTY CLAMP about 1" THICK and weighing over 6 lbs.

Mark where the center of the stack lines up with the top front of your box (I chose not to drill at the very top, but about 1 inch down) and drill 2 - 3/16 pilot holes then 2 - 25/64 holes.

This is a 3 piece clamp (2 halves to go around the stack and the mounting bracket that mounts in between the cab and front of the box, on the front of the box).

Tighten up the 2 - 8MM allens and you are done!!!

Thanks again, 53WILLYS, SPUNBEARING AND MANNWELDER

i am wanting a pair of those now. I need to redo my system before they would fit though. My stacks are only 1/2" away from my bedsides. I can't see the pics of this write up because I am at work but when I get home I will view them.

thought I'd mentioned to have a small set of hands available when trying to hold the bracket between the bed and cab !

Maybe Bruce has made them a little thinner now but, I had a time just getting it to go between the the cab and bed.

Seems he's doing well with his clamp sales... good for him

KINDA TRICKY?????????????????????????????? YES, KINDA TRICKY!!!!!

Guess I should have added

** WARNING**
When installing the bracket yourself much patience is required and finger cramping may occur.

I don't have an extra set of hands around to help out with so I had no choice!!

They look great.... a thinner mounting bracket and some urethane for dampning would be perfect....how is the vibration using the clamp? Kerry

I have not noticed any vibs now that I have the Staxx Clamp on. when I did my homemade clamp to get me buy till Bruce was done with mine I had all types of vibs on shut down but my clamp was not solid like this one it had a little play in it.
I think the BIG backing block is perfect..if you start making it smaller just to ease install a little it starts to loses the rigidness..and thats the best part about this clamp.......BEEF and rigidness
