Installed my Edge J/A Mp-8 Stack

Hey guys,

I had the edge j/a before, then took it off in the hopes of sending it in for a HOT reflash. But instead I got the mp8 and stacked the two.

Seems to be working well, NO lack of power here, or smoke. I have not tried much WOT yet, but part throttle is awsome, when the converter is locked it feels great, but when not feels dumb. Can't wait to get my mild converter in sometimes SOON. Keeping it in second gear locked makes for fun city driving with 3.73s and 37" tires. But I still think my main drawback is the stock converter. I think with a good one, truck would feel/run much better.

I also need to figure out the fuel deliver for the '05. I'm leaning towards dropping the tank, running a second pickup tube, external pump and making it T into a filter and then main line, or something like that. I still have to do more reading on how guys do this on '05s.

Anyone else have this stack? What do you think of it? Any problems?

Thanks,

Igor.

Got some questions

Well, took it for an extended drive last night, and got to pick on/destroy a couple of ricers, on '06 CTD and an older chevy 4x4. Not bad for an almost 8000lb truck with big meats.

Anyhow, I think the truck must be running out of fuel hard. Sometimes it does not feel faster with both boxes on vs. just one box, but sometimes it does. I can peg the EGTs easily. Only other mod is I went with a pro guard 7 filter vs. the pro guard 5 that came on the stock AFE 2 intake kit.

Also, the stock converter is no fun. I'm gonna try the lockup switch mod, but that's just a bandaid, I need a real converter. Got one on order, hope it gets here soon. Trans did well though last night, no complaints there.

One thing, I was unable to get more then 35-36 psi of boost on the stock turbo, I thought it could do more. In fact I've seen it hit 40 on the real gauge, and on the edge monitor in the past. Maybe goes back to running out of fuel problem.

Next mods are fuel pressure gauge, torque converter and a booster fuel pump.

Anyone else out there with this stack and similar mods. What do you think of your stack/what have you had to upgrade/any problems?

Thanks a lot guys.

Igor.

Keep your MP8 box turned all the way up and do your tuning with your other box. You will find that you will end up keeping your other box on lower settings.

Ya, I kinda noticed that the MP8 all the way up and level 1-2 on the edge was good, even leve 3 is good, anything more and it seems to kinda chocke it. Or maybe that's not the word, but not make much more power/throttle response

Question... Is the MP8 a pressure or duration box?

trik396.

Like Masonic said it's pressure but Dennis has a very unique way of not letting the high boost numbers making it defuel etc.

Question Edge J/A MP8 Stack - Improved Mileage?

Has anyone experienced any fuel mileage improvement after adding an MP8 to an existing Edge juice with attitude setup?
