Hooked up a TST powermax, when I turn the box on first level its making a bad noise. Seems to me the injectors start rattling when I turn the box on first level. I have no other modifications or boxes on the truck. Could I have a bad injector harness??? This is on my brothers 04.5 truck. Any information would be apprieciated.

 

Does it throw any codes??? Does it seem to run right, idle at correct rpms, etc.??

 

He said it doesn't set codes, runs fine. Says that he can hear the noise when he gets to around 70mph.

 

is it a new box with the adj. timming? if so go in there and set it on auto. take it out of the set mode noise will go away

 

So do they preset the box with to much timing? Or?

 

my box was on set and 15 when it is on set 15 adv. you will have 15 all the time and you tip into the throttle it will rattle its butt off. the key word is SET change it over to auto then it will adv. on rpm and boost

 

Its an older box, but it worked fine on the other truck it was on. So are you guys thinking that it's probly something with the box, and not something with the engine itself? He's supposed to call TST today to see what they think. We'll wait and see, thanks guys.

Went to TST this morning. They didn't know what was wrong with it. Didn't give much help. He updated with the new twins program, it had the old one in it. He said try that but its still doing it. He rode in the truck and said no something is wrong, but didn't give no advice. Please Help!!!

 

sounds like too much timing. does he have the tone ring advanced?

 

Tone ring is stock. We put my Tst box on his truck and it did the same thing. Kinda stumped.

 

I know this may sound kinda dumb but did you flip a plug over plug it in 180 out? I know it just about cant be done but I have seen stuff like this before that I have no idea how they did it, Auother thing have you tried unpluging the box and putting the jumper in see if it still has the inj. knock? did he ever have a down loader in the truck before? if not was the truck new or used if used maybe someone down loaded a program in the truck and never took it out when they sold it just an idea

 

He had a crazy larry on it, but took it off and put it in another truck. He now has a smarty on it, and it makes the sound, just not nearly as bad as the Tst.

 

Houston we have a problem. sounds like might not have all the stock program back in the ecu from the down loader, may want to call bully dog talk to them see what they say just a thought
