II Silver Phat P0299
Having trouble with the P0299, Industrial injections said I probably needed a new dummy plug for the boost sensor that used to be plugged into the stock turbo so I went with that but still get the p0299 every now and again. Worst part is I cant rely on the truck to pull a trailer anymore since it decides to throw itself into limp mode whenever it feels like it. The problem is the truck will not allow it to be erased with a scanner( tried 2 different ones when it has done it) the only way I can get it to erase itself is to leave it alone for a week or so(weird). I havent contacted Industrial again yet to see if they have any ideas but I would like to be able to pull my travel trailer for vacation and such. I removed my edge and ran as stock with no electronics to see if it was involved in the problem but the truck still throws the p0299.
Will the smarty or diablo work better with a problem like this? Or will they fail to erase the code the same as my scanners do? I have also read on here that the 06-07 trucks have more of a problem with this but mine is an 05, thanks and any help is much appreciated!

Good luck trying to eliminate it. I have not been able to find any way to eliminate getting the code. I started getting it when I put the SPS 62 on. Get a Smarty if you dont have one and you will get to be pretty quick at pulling over and clearing the code when it appears. I have learned to live with it for the past 6 years. Maybe I can convince the wife that twins would solve the problem?

I have the sps 62 also, im not running a boost fooler for the map because the edge does that. The wastegate fooler is whats causing the code from what i can tell. It would be nice if the computer for the truck could be sent in and reflashed without the wastegate crap programmed in or somthing to that nature!

Just a thought but ------>
Someone elsewhere mentioned you could take the stock electronic waste gate controller off the stock turbo, plug it in as if was still being used and just tie it up out of the way to solve the problem.
Anyone else heard of this fix?
That being said I have run both an II SPS66 and SPS66 on my 2004.5 using II's plug-in resistor type fooler without any codes.
