Re: If you play you pay

but to loose it all because of mods doesn't seem right to me. Just my opinion
It's this little thing that many people seem to be forgetting about as time goes by. It's called responsibility. Why should the manufacturer pay for you ruining the system they built? That's like taking a microwave, dropping it into the river, then expecting the manufacturer to fix it for free. It's just ridiculous.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Schied tuner, the ACME dieselnator 1000, it gives 300 hp w/ stock exhaust and air intake.

Aparently you have no idea how far beyond Banks these other companies really are. Check it out for yourself:

Why does it have to be electronics? You asked this:

Tuning diesels involves a lot more than plugging up an electronic box. No, Scheid doesn't build a "box", but they develop every other area of these engines, and have been doing it before Banks ever thought about diesels. Yes, they sell banks boxes along with every other box on the market.

Applications- not just diesel, gas as well as marine.
Tuning diesels-via boxes, programmers,etc...

Yes, I do mean electronics. This started out as a banks $ & #s issue. Electronics on today's trucks will blow the doors off mechanical upgrades if money is an issue. What mechanically adds 100hp under $800 (gen 3's). Answer not needed.

I'd hook the Banks Sidewinder to a pull sled any day!

GDH,

They're just fine on the street. They have a little more lag than the stocker right off the bottom, but they're huge in comparison, too. IMO a single is no match for twins at a high power level when looking at spoolup, EGT, and building power. With the changes since the last dyno I'm pretty confident I can eek it over 600 this weekend at the dyno/drag race. Are you still coming down for that?

I've been to a lot of sled pulls, and the farthest I've ever seen a 2wd pull one is about 30'. Best of luck to ya.....

Applications: Diesel trucks are just a small fraction of Scheid's business.

Oh, and 100 mechanical hp... injectors work nicely. They can be found for around $800.
