So, I like the rest of you sickos I want more whistle from the turbo. But I do not want to hear the rushing air sound of an intake kit, nor do I want to pay for one 'cause I'm a broke sucker. So, what do I need to do to up the whistle without upping intake noise? Obviously the first to go will be the silencer ring. What else? Should I remove that X-shaped baffle in the intake? Remember, whistle only!

i did, and it helped out a lot. i dont know what you mean by intake noise, or air rushing, but i cut out that baffle with a little wood saw so i dident have to brake any things on the tube. and i think that helped out a lot more than silencer ring alone. leave the little white curved plastic fins in the bottom, thay help the air make the turn to go into the turbo.

Usually with cold air kits you can hear the sound of the air being sucked into the intake. I don't want to hear that. It annoys me.

Man if you put an AFE stage 2 on there, the whistle would be intense . It is on mine and I love it, as for the air whoosh, you would get use to it, it is really not that bad. But it would sound way better than just hoggin out the stock air box. IMO.

I put an AEM on all I could hear is whistle....none of this "air rushing in" sound you are describing.

Pauly. Have you used an intake before?

The one on my hemi sounded like a airplane. It drove me nuts and I had flowmaster exhaust on the truck.

I'm tempted to try ****** and if I don't like it I'll just put my old one back on.

So I don't have to read through the 11 pages of ****** thread, do you get the air sound on that one or just whistle.

I'm with you on this one Pauly. I find myself hammering the gas to get the whistle up and then let off so I can hear it sing.

We've got problems!!
