HTT turbo price diffs? 62/13/65ss vs. 62/13/71ss?
I see the 62/13/65ss turbos one ebay for like $1575 or "make offer." I never see the other variants I am considering of the same turbo. Such as the 62/13/71ss or maybe the 64/13/71ss. Will I be able to find those turbos for the same price? Or are the other 62/13/65ss turbos going to be a few hundred dollars cheaper because quite a few middle-men have probably bought them in bulk (I am guessing here)?
Thanx.

You all were right, Lmills does have great prices. The diff. between the two turbos is not that great. I guess I still have to make the decision myself instead of a big price diff. making it.
The Diesel mechanic I like locally said it will take a tad longer to spool, but give me more on the top. At the NADM Diesel event I just attended in Bakersfield, an HTT rep told me that I would be fine with a 64/71/13. I really would hate to get the trailer behind me and not feel like my truck is a great tow vehicle.
Decisions...decisions.

HA! I like that last line rip112. At least you have the cash in hand. I got to wheel & deal a couple things before I have it in hand. I have a feeling that no matter what, a 62/65/13 will be radical with no side effects.
If I turn my smarty down to like 3 or 5, will towing stink with the 71? Who knows?

with the standard transmission the 64 71/13ss would be great
with auto trans I would stick with a 62 compressor
just works great all the time , any bigger on the street slower to spool , more black smoke, higher egts unless you are racing all the time or trying to be a dyno king you be happiest with 62.
some guys here will disagree who have autos with 64-66 single chargers HTT or silver 66 or 64 IIs or even the ATS A-5000 series , that will say otherwise.
but I guess when it comes to the real world of really truly what works on the street for everyday with some towing & occasional street light to light racing mixed in, depends on what your definition of is is meaning spooling etc of a large single vs a smaller charger like a 62 !

I tow heavy (23K) 48RE HTT 62/71/13 SS on stock fueling to keep the trailer clean, the soot off the side, little lag down low but runs fine, I feel it tows great, when you turn the boxes on (Smarty) no lag and towes like a rocket ship. This truck has layed down 613/1400 ft lbs with this turbo, stock injectors stage 1 Floor it Diesel CP3 pump this is not a race truck or a Dyno Queen, built for towing by Floor it Diesel.

That is cool Stang. Do you mind if I ask for all of the details on your build?
Thanx.

I have a 64/65/13ss getting ready to go in once I get the rest of the little parts here. I had the same debate on which one to get. I'll post up the results. Tac
