It will support 850-900hp in a compound set-up. a 62/71,64/65 and a 64/71 are all great turbos to use with the s-480. Spool up is a little laggier than the secondary charger. I know it will take a beating as well

I believe It was a larger charger than then the for 480 maybe a S-488 I think. I know someone else will know. he did make over 900hp with the 64/480 and I don't think it let loose

I believe Nathan stated on another forum that the shaft was bent for some reason and it wasnt the turbos fault

I think the superdave is the only bottom charger that Tim has not blown. Mine has been running for a year. It will support 925-950 HP, but tuning will be the key. Tim blew up s488's to my knowledge. Hopefully he will chime in

I didn't know about the bent shaft. And, I believe you are right, Lloyd, about the s488.

The Super Dave was great. I ran it for a year and sold it and it is still going strong as far as I know. I made 928 hp on diesel with it. 488s are a different story as well as a 91 or two. Super Dave is perfect for 800-900 hp, very good spool and reliable as they come, I just out grew it. Tim
