I am looking at buying a used HTT H2B2 turbo for my 03 6 speed. I tow 10,000lbs about 3-4 times per year with one of those times going from OH to central PA through some mountains. Will this turbo be too laggy for towing? I called HTT and they told me that is not a good towing turbo, but i notice several people on here that have the turbo.
I would like to do some 50 horse injectors at some point and maybe that would help the turbo.

That really isn't the best turbo for towing due to the 14cm exhaust housing. But it is still a decent turbo. Having a manual will allow you to drive around the lag though by keeping RPMs up.

If you can swap to the 12cm exhaust housing, that would be the best setup for you and then you would have a good turbo for your purposes.

 

Sounds similar to how I am using mine. I dont have any problems, I simply keep the RPMs above 2k when pulling hills and it works well.
