My problem is i have an auto, otherwise id get the 62/71/13ss, but dont want the lag associated with the /71 & Auto. I did think about the 64/65/13, but errored on the side of smaller...i can always upgrade the housing to 64 for relatively cheap...and the long term plan is twins which i believe will work better with the 62/65/13....

Love mine. I only haul a slide in camper, & I've only got it over 1400* once. That was passing a subaru on a 8% grade from 45 mph to 80 mph. I hit 1500+, but just for a few seconds. That was with TNT on SW-9.Normal DD I can only get to 1200*.

bigwheels94..... does your exhaust ever drone? I am looking into a system and wondered about the 5" drone I hear about. I am leaning toward a 4" from Silverline. I will have very similar mods to yours when done. I have the turbo and Floor-it stage 2 pump here waiting to put on till spring. I just got my 75hp injectors from JL Machine installed and it gets pretty hot quick, it also can really roll the black smoke, sometimes even when I dont want it to.

Ataboy. Yeah, it drones. Kinda annoying. I may put a 51" muffler on it one of these days. The stock minus cat, & muffler droned too. I had a small muffler in place of the stocker, but it still droned.

I had a 62/65/13ss and upgraded to the 64/65/13ss when my engine was being rebuilt. I miss my 62, I have too much smoke down low towing just plain sucks compared to before. I think when winter is over I will send it back and get a 62 again. The top end is killer with the 64, but I need to tow and it's a daily driver.

How do you think the two compare in daily driving (no towing)?

I ran a 26" Donaldson for maybe 2 years without any drone. I don't think the length of the muffler has anything to do with drone. There are a couple zillion threads on drone but primarily drone was found to be caused by varying things on different trucks. That's a lot of help,... right? There was a recall of a hose vibrating against something,...I think it was a power steering hose or a protective hose that went over it or something like that and that worked on some trucks. There was a fix on some trucks,... like mine where I added two extra clamps in front of the muffler and spaced evenly up to the down pipe,... my cat fell off and that was a lot of unsupported length so I went that route and it helped a lot but the final fix on my truck was the transfer case. They never told me the problem they found but they replaced the entire transfer case and that was the end of drone.

I know of others who found totally different solutions but that is what solved my drone problem.

I really love my 64/65/13ss. It cools great and spools great. But it goes back to the auto vs manual. Manual, go 64, no problem. Auto I would lean toward a 62 unless you got plenty of fuel to help spool a 64 but it will be at the expense of smoke. Here is a dyno vid, everything set to kill (TNT/TST stack), but you get the idea on smoke. I did miss gear going into sixth so lost all rpms then hammered throttle. Tac

It was a little low-509hp, no torque numbers. It was a mustang dyno so a lot of people were disappointed. I didn't have anytime to tune either so more potential there. I need cp3 and injectors now. Tac

Maybe there are many kinds of drone. My drone is all exhaust note. About 2500rpm it starts to BLLLAAAAA. that resonates through the cab, & will get my ears ringing on a grade. I can live with it, but I would like to quiet it down some. Maybe someone could post a recording of "drone". I may have the wrong idea about it.
