I am stuck between twins and a single if I go the single I can upgrade the cp3 right now as well. If I go twins It will be a long time before i will have the money for a CP3.
What I want to know is how everyday drivable is a single 66. I know some people do it , but how laggy and smokey is it for real. I dont tow very much maybe 5k-7k 5 or 6 times a year, but me or my wife do drive the truck everyday.
I will be running a TST and either a smarty or BDDL on top of 90 hp DDP injectors. at the track and probably just the tow setting on the DL for everyday driving. please let me know what you guys think.

I have had an II SPS66 for 2 and a half years on mine now. With the proper mods (enough fuel) and tc/transmission (no mushy stock tc) mine is just fine for me. It is a little laggy and smokey with a decent load, but even then manageble. Daily driving takes getting use to, but with proper supporting mods it is fine. I am glad that I went with the SPS66. Most now are going with the Silver Bullet that I think will spool a little quicker, but I am fine with mine.
My mods are similar to what you are looking at minus the sticks which should even make it better. Just my .02.

It sounds like we'll have very similar mods. The smarty and the DDP 90's will make the single 66 spool great if you live anywhere near sea level. Not sure how other 66's compare, but I really couldn't be happier with the silver bullet. TST and injectors alone will be enough to spool the 66, with very very minimal smoke. Add the smarty and you have almost instant spool up with light to heavy black smoke depending on how you roll into the throttle. Where are you located? elevation?

I'll be there thursday for SEMA, but not with the truck. I'd say you'd be happy with the single 66. I drive mine every day (04.5 with 137k on the clock) and am very happy with how it performs. When I know I'm going up in the mountains (tahoe, reno) I usually pull the smarty off and it won't smoke.
