How to pick a torque converter?

I'm making up my mind on who to pick for a TC/VB combo. My 05 has 23,000 miles and shifts good. All I have is a Smarty (and gauges) and I want to turn it up past 90 HP.
First of all, I've called Dave Goerend several (I think 3) times and left messages, and haven't got a return call. I also e-mailed at least twice. How do you get in touch with him?
Next question, how do I pick a torque converter? I want probably a 62-14 or maybe a 66 (I don't tow or really plan to, but I have a automatic obviously and don't want something that's hard to drive) and I'll get a TST w/R-49, injectors and I'm wanting something around in the 600 hp range.
What do the 89% or 91% mean when people are talking about TC's?
I talked with Tony at DunRite converters and he mentioned power to weight-are we talking stall speed or something? I've heard something that you want a low stall with a turbo diesel (can't remember exactly)
Any help or advice is appreciated!

When you get the chance to talk to Goerend, explain to him what you plan on doing with your truck, your horsepower goals, and he'll build the converter to suit them. I did that exact same thing. He built me what he said was slightly tighter than normal converter. 1600-1800 rpm where's stock is something around 2200. These numbers are all really guessing because your stall speed is dependant on when and where your engine produces it's highest torque.
The percentage numbers you speak of are from DTT and I really don't know how they rate their converters.
Yes you want lower stall speed with our diesels. When you do get your new converter, you will be amazed. I can't really describe the feeling of how different your truck will drive. Feels like a whole bunch of more power because you are more efficiently putting the power to the ground.

Give Dave some time. It took him a couple of weeks to respond to me but it will be worth the wait. When you do get a call back he will explain everything to you in detail. I have had great luck so far. Actually I am still waiting on a call back from DTT from several months back. I was going to go with Goerend, but I thought I would give DTT a chance and they never called back.

I thought it was Daves site that explained it? Take your pre-lockup rpm and divide that by your rpm the moment you lock up. Here are the numbers on my ATS converter 1750 2500 = 70.0%. When it locked up it was ugly. There was a huge rpm drop. Now with my DTT, it locks so smooth I haven't even bothered to check it out. I would guess its close to 90% its way tighter than the ATS converter.

You should see mine. It only drops about 50 RPM when it locks in 2nd and 3rd. Pretty much feels like it's locked all the time.

I called Goerend every day for a week and sent an email each day as well. This was about 3 months ago, and I never heard from them. I even had the shop that was going to install it call them, but never got any response. I kept hearing what a great product they have, and how great Dave was to work with, but I never got the chance.

If I bought his product, I would be concerned if I needed any customer service.
