To be safe, I'd say 75-100 hp max...

good god....we've seen this about 200 times in the last few weeks on here.

It all depends on driving style, vehicle condition, any other vehicle mods (over sized tires) and so on....if you are asking this question, start saving for a good tranny!

You can only go so far with the upgrades before you need some slush box upgrades to even make your other performance parts work well and be able to enjoy them...

And since it happens to be one of the most expensive mods you will ever buy, save up for it, and everything else will seem inexpensive after that.

So, in the mean time, do your intake, exhaust, gauges, and programmer, be responsible with it, learn how it reacts...

Then proceed with the high end items if you still got the horsepower itch...i.e. transmission, turbo(s), injectors, etc.

buy you time really thats all you can do with the tranny unless you build it you see the clutch packs go bad i have seen bands welded together and stayed that way even after a few swings with my 5 pound grade setter be cool tool. next is the great debat of billet over nonbillet which is stonger and has flex allowing it to bend and not snap bla bla bla. if it costs alot must be good right?? (thats what i thought about the pmt) your really just buying time man and dont worrie ask away alot of ppl new some of the guys on here see the same chit alot, but if its new to you sweet ask away. hell i dont even know how to work the search thingy.

MADHAT..thanks ..i understand that there are only so many topics people can talk about on here & sooner or later there are going to be certain topics that get dicussed more than others....people just need to realize that at 1 point everyone had to start somewhere & ask questions to be able to lay the groundwork. Thanks

No worries man.. When you take about 60,000 members and 8 or 9 year old forum things are going to get repeated.. I understand your concern. The 48re is hit or miss in our trucks and some last longer than others. I ran for 30,000 miles with my Edge J/A set on 3 before I killed my T/C.

By the way, welcome to DTR
