I would disagree, I love the 48RE.

I think it boils down to either your an auto guy or a stick guy.

It also depends on what kind of driving you do.

After some miles a brown color and strong odor are considered normal for ATF+4 and alone is not an indicater of burnt fluid or an overheated transmission.
