Is $400 or less the going rate for studs?

Also, I was wondering how much it would cost to get my head ringed.

... guess it'd make sense to install F-1 springs at the same time.

Don't waste your time removing the head or having it o-ringed. I wouldn't touch it until it blows with studs. You can install studs and springs with the head in place.

Is that a good idea to install studs without removing the head?

Some, like me, like it that way. My head has been seated for 120,000 miles and I'm sure the gasket has had time to settle... I just replaced them one at a time and didn't have to unset the head...

My wife slapped me in the back of my head when I opened this post while she was behind me. "I thought this was a clean site!!! You said..." All I could hear was a turbo ringing in my ears... wait... that's not it...

Seriously, what does this do for an engine? I have never seen it mentioned for 3rd gens, only 1st and 2nd. Is it for serious mods, i.e. NOS? Not to jack the thread...

TIA...
