If you do a good valve body and converter i would CONSERVATIVELY say 450-500 barring no boosted launches. I think if you putting down more than 1000ft-lbs it is better to be safe then sorry and get a billet input shaft and a stronger flex plate.

Thats like opening a can of worms areound here. Goerends is the best in my opinion. However you may want to check out Suncoast, DTT, HTS and a few others. Do a thread search and you'll find all kinds of info.
