Put the Sr on at about 40K, ran it for almost 10K then sold it to a friend. put the Jr on at 50K. Pulled it off at 122K and bought my old Sr back from my Friend, now have another 2k on the Sr running Level 5. No issues except babying the tranny until I can afford a beefy rebuild. Other then new TQ and VB the truck still runs great.

Smarty
I'm going on four years with my Smarty Sr. It too is one of the early ones. No issues. Works everytime. No hiccups, cels. Nothing but enhanced driveability. Smarty is the one performance enhancer you read least about. Great reliability.

MY GOD...
My wife has my Smarty JR hidden somehwere in our house and refuses to give it to me until my actual B-day (AUG). I'm about to freak out....
I can't wait to experience the Samrty advantage!
If the house is on fire, the order of things to grab to safety:
1) Wife and daughter
2) dog
3) Smarty (may switch # 2 & 3)
I can only imagine me standing in the street with flames shooting out of the windows asking "where the H the Smarty hidden!"
Can't wait gentlemen....already pricing tranny upgrades!

edge EZ problems? help!
Hi everybody, im new on this site and new on playing with dodges. I have a 2006 5.9L dodge ram 3500, i purchased an edge EZ and hooked up, didn't feel to much of a change in driving and power. After 2 weeks i was driving home from work on the hiway cursing at 110 Km/H and suddenly one cylinder stop to work, the truck started to run like a ford After 2Km it run fine again. When i got home i hooked up the reader and didn't find anything. Two days later on the same route same thing but this time it stood like that, got home hooked the reader and "injector nr 2 short circuit" i toked the valve cover of and tested all the injectors and the nr 2 was reading double resistance. i called around to find an injector, i live in Alberta Canada so nothing is cheap here. Cummins western Canada sold one for me for 1010$( thats with fuel delivery tube) and it was still 300$ cheaper than the dealership.
So long story short, Can it be that the EdgeEZ killed my injector or this is just a coincidence?
i unhooked the chip because i don't want another 1010$ affair with cummins.
I would appreciate if somebody would give me some info on this.
thanks

I have had my Smarty Jr for about 5 years. I think I yanked my edge juice with attitude off my truck around 130,000 kms. So now I have about 475,000 kms on the 04.5 All those Smarty Jr. miles have been without gauges, with a truck used in the oilpatch for work. Couple times a summer I pull my 7,000 lb travel trailer wherever on level 3. Truck always weighs at least 9500 lbs. Original stock clutch, original injectors, original water pump and alternator, engine untouched, except 1 belt tentioner pulley, one idler pulley, and #4 cracked injector line. Also had a engine mounted fuel pump crap out under warranty, and the tank mounted one was installed under warranty about 6 years ago. Never had a fuel pressure gauge. Truck just seems to run awesome. Dunno, mine must have been built on a Monday morning when bonuses where handed out! Fuel filters, I change maybe once a year or every 70,000 kms. Who knows! Never had a fuel filter issue that I have been aware of. Oh, did I mention that my Smarty Jr. has been flawless the whole time?

I put mine on at 6300 miles in Sept 2007, 7 days after I added gauges and a fuel pump. In my mind Smarty is the best programmer for the truck. If you look at other manufacturers, they make programmers and equipment for a wide assortment of vehicles. Mads only makes products for the Cummins. Mads just doesn't have as large of an advertising budget as some vendors so you don't hear much by way of advertising, mostly word of mouth. Let me tell you, Smarty delivers!

It'll be interesting to hear your impressions of the OFE. No slip yet on mine, but I know it's coming. Getting rid of that shutdown rattle will be a blessing too. 4.5 yrs on my SO4,no issues.
