Remove your silencer ring when you put the new intake on, it will help out some. Get rid of the muffler too if you haven't done so already.

Do a SEARCH for SILENCER RING. Lots of good photos in there also.

I was just like you about a month ago;knew next to nothing. Search has given me a wealth of info on here

Good Luck

take the intake off the turbo. Get a high flow filter. Pull the tube that goes down, about a foot long, off the intake and cut out the baffles (plastic crosshair pieces) and then get the 90 degree bend at the bottom and cut the white junk out of that. Pull the silencer ring off the turbo. Reinstall the intake and it will whistle. mine whistles great.

You need to fill out your signature. What is the truck you want to do this to.

I think the 06 already has four inch on it so there is no need to replace it. If you alter the exhaust it could mess with the warranty. I thought you were dealing with an older truck. Sorry, guess I should have looked at what forum you posted in.

Like Coobie says, Make sure you are content with Whistle because you will have it on short trips, long trips, in between trips, & in your sleep!

I did a swiss cheese airbox & got just the right amount. It only does it when your on it hard.

If my wife had to hear it everywhere we went she wouldn't be my wife anymore.

We do lots of things & spend lots of money to get the sounds we want.
Make sure if there is a significant other or someone else that they like the sound as much as you do.

A straight pipe, a missing silencer ring & things like that have probably led
to many homicides!

replace your silencer tube with this:

and remove your silencer ring. No cutting on anything stock and all replaceable. Putting that AEM intake on will void your warranty faster than removing a silncer ring or tube so don't worry about that. And also, no need to go with a 5" system if your not pushing more than 450hp to the wheels, waste of money. I have stock muffler and intake with no silencer ring or tube and i can hear the turbo pretty decent, add a straight through muffler and an intake and you will get nice whine. probably not quite as much as the stroker you heard for different reasons...

shes got a z28 with slp loud moth off road pipe etc. she loves noise! and races dirtbikes with me! so the noise isnt the problem!

just gotta get the noise! the truck i heard the whine/whistly was loud you could basically just hear it not the motor itself

and i want somethig where i hear the whistle all the time when i drive not just how it is now when i get on it passing someone i hear it.

i want it loud always!
