How do I "build Boost"

I know, its probably a stupid question, but I am new here, and I have been reading alot of threads about building boost before jumping off the line. I assume this refers to power braking to bring the rpms up and to spool the turbo up. Am I correct? Someone kindly point me in the right direction. Thanks-J.R.

You got it. Kinda brake stand it a little bit (as much as you can without moving) and then blast off.

Yup, it is a little bit harder to build boost with a 6-speed

[off topic] I have been told by a couple people that the best way for us manual guys is to put her in 3rd, rev the engine to ~2500rpms, then at go-time, dump the clutch, drop the hammer, then go straight to 5th then 6th without ever taking your right foot off the floor. Haven't tried it yet but one of these days I need to. Just no places around here to really do it. Oh yeah, 4WD is required for that kinda launch [/off topic]
