Just through browsing, I saw that Edge cut there hot upgrade cost to $50 for a period of time.. just FYI!

 

Thanks for the info. Not trying to hijack your thread, but is there disclaimer really all its cracked up to be? I can see the tranny upgrades, but the turbo? Is a turbo really needed?

 

Well, on my 03, the regular juice would not pull over 1300. The hot upgrade, from a standing start, would hit 1400+ by 70mph. So yes, it does run hotter!

 

Yes, the hot upgrade will trash a stock tranny and pull a stock lift pump to around 0 PSI...

 

But what about the turbo? Will a stock turbo keep up? The reason i ask is simply the fact that i am considering getting the hot unlock now. I am getting some work done on my tranny right now, so that will be taken care of. An AFE stage II and an intake elbow and an Airdog 150 are next on the list. But I have no plans, nor the desire to upgrade the turbo so i didnt want to pay for the hot unlock if i need to upgrade that as well to be able to us it in the future.

 

It will not keep up... I'm on duty now, so I can't get to the vid, but I have some footage of my gauges and the edge... my pyro flys to 1500 in a matter of seconds.

The edge runs pretty hot anyway. I assume that the way that edge makes power is to just dump fuel at the motor. It always ran hot for me, but after I installed my 2.5's, even with my current turbo, I could not control the EGT's.

It's only 50 bucks now, from what I hear, so I'd get it, it will make the edge more marketable if you ever decide to sell it, and you can find out if the hot is what everyone says it is from your own personal experience.
