Your sig really doesn't say much. but if you have an auto then a lock-up switch is very nice to have... If you have the factory air box, then some like to cut the bottom opened a little bit...

Other then that, grab some wax and a towel and show her some love ...

All kinds of good stuff, oil change (and send sample to Blackstone http://www.blackstone-labs.com/-or any good oil analyzer, check out www.bobistheoilguy.com for further info on a additional filter, a bypass type for super clean oil)
I actually put the twin turbos on my truck, and I don't consider myself a mechanic, it just literally took my 4 times longer than a pro, but I learned a heck of a lot about my truck. I did have the jack and jack stands some open end and box end wrenches and a socket set (and a rental car)
I also did the Fuel Boss (mechanical fuel pump) and 2 micron fuel filter and vent modification for tank (go to http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/de...dept_id=07-003)
The best advice I got was not to be in a hurry. You can save money by doing the labor, but the info learned was (to me) the most important gain.

the best thing for oil sample is go to a caterpillar dealer and ask for part# SOS1 that is a whole package the bottle and label and where to send it and the price of the bottle is the fee for the sample send it in and they will send you back the results. should cost around 10 - 15 dollars

Ditto on that. Is the K & N a dropin replacment for the stock air box? Unless you are planning major mods the stock air box with a clothes dryer vent kit will handle all the air you are going to need. If you are in bug country get some fiberglass screen material while you are getting the dryer vent kit. Cut the screen material to cover your A/C condensor and zip tie it in place in front of it. When the bugs are heavy you can cut the zip ties and give the screen a good shake and rinse with a garden hose. With the low cost of the screen material you could also replace it everytime it bugs you.

Oh don't forget to drink a beer or two!
