High EGTs really quick

Hey guys.

I got my turbo problems all figure out, but I am still having problems with my egts. I changed out the probe thinking it might be the problem and it isn't, unless I replaced it with another bad probe.

So I can get my truck to 1100* in about 50 yards under WOT. I know I am not throwing too much fuel at it as it used to run cool. What could cause this? I don't under stand. I can have a reading of 1300* pre-turbo and only 600* post. I just don't understand what is happening here.

Thanks

Let me clarify a bit.

My truck used to run pretty cool up till about two weeks ago when I started having boost problems. Well, I got the boost under control and everything there is ok. So my problem is, If I take off from a stop under normal conditions my egt's climb pretty quick. At 1200* pre turbo, my post turbo egts will show about 600*-700* cooler. It used to be only about 300* seperation between the two. I am not sure what would cause this high egt issue I am having suddenly. I am getting ready to put a Drive pressure gauge on it to see what is happening there. I am also swapping my gauges around to see if maybe one of them is bad. Any other ideas would be great.

The low rail pressure issue you were experiencing could definitely cause the high egts, but I don't think the disparity between the pre and post numbers. That is a puzzler

In all honesty, probably not. Well ok, NO! I would spend a few more bucks and use something different. Given that I paid even less then the current cost of this set-up, It was going to cost me at minimum 1/3 more to go to a stocker over s400 set-up. Probably even more because I had no turbo to begin with.

All in all, I am not totally disappointed in buying these, they fit my budget at the time and I really wanted to be different then what everyone else was using. Like I said in a different thread these turbos are a tried and true set.

Alright Crash, I bought this set up based on your input......now you're having problems with them. I hope I don't.......what started your problem so I might avoid it?? Is it when you developed an exh. leak??

In the morning I'll be installing my finished brace/brkt, hopefully it'll fit after I finished welded it up.......then putting the tubes( drill/tap for bg), alum. ic, int. man. with heat grid removed, and putting the truck back together. Not much of a list left, huh??
